Energy-efficiency rebate for heat-pump water heaters
Current cooperative members can receive a $500 bill credit per qualifying integrated heat-pump water heater.

The rebate covers a new integrated, all-in-one heat-pump electric water heater. These units must have a Uniform Energy Factor (UEF) of at least 2.20—the efficiency rating to check in the equipment specifications.
The payment is $500 per qualifying unit, but cannot exceed the equipment cost. Scenic Rivers Energy Cooperative approves the claim and applies the rebate as a credit to your electric account.
Eligibility
- You must be a current Scenic Rivers Energy Cooperative member, and the new equipment must be installed on the cooperative’s electricity lines.
- The cooperative must install a load-control device for you to qualify. This allows it to temporarily limit the water heater’s electricity use during peak demand. Control can occur at various times throughout a 24-hour period, depending on Dairyland Power Cooperative.
- Load-control receivers sometimes need replacement. If yours is inside your home, a cooperative technician needs access to carry out that work. If you are absent, the team leaves instructions to arrange an appointment.
- Rebates are first come, first served and end when the relevant incentive funds or the overall funds are depleted. The 2026 programme runs through 31 December 2026 and can change or be cancelled without notice; additional eligibility criteria may apply.

Call Member Services at 800-236-2141, extension 563, to arrange the required cooperative load-control installation and confirm the applicable criteria.
Complete and sign the 2026 water-heater incentive form, including the full member-information section and equipment details. Attach the receipt or invoice with equipment prices and purchase/installation dates circled, plus documentation showing the equipment has been installed. Email the documents to srec@srec.net or mail them to Scenic Rivers Energy Cooperative, 206 County Rd K, Lancaster WI 53813.
Submit promptly after purchase and installation. The general instructions require submission within three months of purchase or installation; the water-heater form specifically requires the documents within three months of installation. The 2026 programme ends on 31 December, so the relative submission periods do not extend the programme beyond that date. Missing information or unmet criteria can make a rebate ineligible, and the cooperative must approve the claim.
