Balcony solar grant

City of Bad KreuznachSaksaenintään 250 EURhaku päättyy 31.3.2027

Up to €250 for residents buying a new plug-in solar system for their own home or rented dwelling in Bad Kreuznach.

Tämän rahoitusmahdollisuuden kuvaus on toistaiseksi englanniksi.

Balkonkraftwerke für Privathaushalte supports small solar systems that feed electricity into your home through a suitable socket, for example from a balcony, flat roof or terrace. The grant is €250, or the purchase or invoice amount if that is lower.

You must use the system in Bad Kreuznach for five years from the grant payment. During that period you must not deliberately shut it down, sell it or use it for another purpose. The city may inspect it on site.

The grant normally does not need to be repaid. If the award is withdrawn because of false or incomplete information, misuse or failure to meet its conditions, repayment can be required, with annual interest five percentage points above the applicable base rate.

The general grant conditions apply unless your award decision expressly provides otherwise.

Tell the city immediately if the funded purpose or other circumstances relevant to the award change, the purpose can no longer be achieved, you seek another public grant for the same purpose, inventoried equipment is no longer needed or used as intended, or insolvency proceedings are requested or opened. Equipment costing more than €800 must be recorded in an inventory.

The incorporated grant conditions require proof of use within six months of fulfilling the funded purpose, and at the latest by the end of the sixth month after the award period. If the purpose is still incomplete at year end, an interim statement is due within four months after year end. Proof includes an account of the result and a financial statement. Keep grant documents for five years after submitting proof of use, or longer where another legal requirement applies. VAT you can reclaim from the tax authorities is not an eligible cost.

Eligibility

  • Private individuals can apply. If you own the dwelling, you must live in it and have your main residence in Bad Kreuznach. Tenants of dwellings in Bad Kreuznach can also apply. Landlords and legal entities cannot apply. The dwelling receiving the solar electricity must be used wholly or mainly as a home; commercial and agricultural business buildings do not count as ancillary residential buildings.
  • The new system must be installed in Bad Kreuznach, with solar-module capacity no more than 2,000 W and total inverter output no more than 800 W. It must have been bought and installed from 27 June 2025 onwards; earlier invoices are excluded.
  • The system must be properly mounted and connected and meet applicable national and international standards, including CE requirements. Used systems or systems made mainly from used parts, prototypes and off-grid systems are excluded. Your own labour is not funded; you may install the system yourself. You must not receive payments under Germany’s Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG) for electricity fed into the public grid.
  • Only one system can be funded per dwelling and applicant. You cannot combine this grant with any other funding programme for the same system.

Hakukierroksen ehdot
  • Apply within six months of purchase. The programme ends earlier if funding is exhausted.[^c3][^c8][^c9]

Buy, install and pay for the eligible system, then apply within six months of purchase through the CIVENTO application linked on the city’s official programme page. A tradesperson is not required for funding.

Attach purchase receipts or invoices showing the supplier, total costs and installed wattage, proof of payment, confirmation of registration in the Bundesnetzagentur’s Marktstammdatenregister (the national electricity-system register), and a photo of the installed system.

The city processes complete applications in receipt order while funding remains. There is no entitlement to a grant. Incomplete or incorrect applications are rejected, but you may apply again. Payment goes to your stated bank account after the city checks the application and the award decision becomes legally final.
