Advancing Renewables Program
Ongoing grants for Australian renewable-energy development, demonstration, deployment and commercialisation projects.
Tämän rahoitusmahdollisuuden kuvaus on toistaiseksi englanniksi.
Fund a project that makes renewable energy more competitive or easier to deploy in Australia. Current focus areas include very low-cost solar, renewable electricity, clean hydrogen, low-emissions metals and transport decarbonisation.
Awards are generally grants, but ARENA may make some or all of a grant repayable under the funding agreement. ARENA expects support to fall between AUD 100,000 and AUD 50 million, and applicants are typically expected to at least match the amount requested. These are expectations rather than fixed award limits or a universal funding rate.
Eligibility
You need an Australian Business Number. For projects other than desktop studies and analysis, the lead must be an eligible Australian corporation, government business, state- or territory-owned corporation, statutory corporation, local government or an Australian body representing local governments.
Most project activity must take place in Australia. The project must involve renewable-energy technology and contribute to lower costs, greater value, improved technical or commercial readiness, fewer barriers to uptake, or stronger skills and knowledge.
Projects focused on early research at technology readiness levels 1–3 are not eligible, nor is student education and training. Research can form part of a larger development, demonstration, deployment or commercialisation project. You must also agree to public knowledge sharing under the funding agreement.

- Discuss the project with ARENA before submitting an expression of interest.
First send ARENA information about your project for an initial discussion. Then create an ARENANet account and normally submit an expression of interest with a project plan and conflict-of-interest declaration. If the EOI succeeds, ARENA invites you to submit a full application.
