Residential energy rebates

Cherryland Electric CooperativeMichigan

Rebates for Cherryland residential electric members buying efficient appliances, heat pumps and other home heating or cooling equipment.

Tämän rahoitusmahdollisuuden kuvaus on toistaiseksi englanniksi.

You receive a fixed rebate for qualifying equipment, mailed to you or credited to your electricity account. Rebates of $100 or less are credited to the account. Support cannot exceed 75% of project cost; if project cost is below the standard rebate, the payment is reduced to 75% of that cost. Complete claims are usually paid within four to six weeks.

The appliances below must be ENERGY STAR qualified, meaning they meet the programme’s energy-efficiency requirement, except induction stoves and cooktops, which have their own requirements:

  • $25 each for portable room dehumidifiers and portable air purifiers, with a limit of four of each.
  • $30 per room air conditioner, with a limit of four per installation address.
  • $25 each for clothes washers, standard electric dryers, refrigerators and freezers, with a limit of two of each. Compact refrigerators are excluded.
  • $50 per heat-pump clothes dryer, with a limit of two. Vented and ventless heat-pump models qualify.
  • $30 per induction stove or cooktop replacing gas or electric resistance cooking, with at least three elements or burners and a limit of two. Portable induction units and gas ranges or stovetops do not qualify.

Heating and cooling rebates cover:

  • Central air conditioners: $100 for an AHRI-rated SEER2 of 14.3–16.1, or $200 for SEER2 of at least 16.2. SEER2 is the seasonal cooling-efficiency rating used to choose the rebate tier.
  • Central air-source heat pumps: $450. Mini-split heat pumps: $500 per outdoor unit, with a limit of four outdoor units. Both must appear on the NEEP cold-climate air-source heat-pump list.
  • Ground- or water-source heat pumps, including new systems, replacements and Well-Connect: $2,250. Closed-loop systems need a full-load EER of at least 17; open-loop systems need at least 19. EER is the equipment’s cooling-efficiency rating at full load.
  • ENERGY STAR heat-pump water heaters: $100.
  • Wi-Fi smart thermostats controlling a system with air conditioning and/or electric heat: $50, with a limit of two.
  • ENERGY STAR whole-home dehumidifiers: $50, with a limit of one. Portable models use the appliance route instead.
  • Circulation pumps for water-based heating systems: $200. The motor must be an electronically commutated motor (ECM) or permanent-magnet motor.
  • Air-conditioner tune-ups: $25 per ton of cooling capacity, for units larger than two tons.

Funds are limited and allocated in application order. Cherryland can refuse payment if funds are unavailable when it approves the application. Incentive levels are valid through December 31, 2026 unless revised, and the programme may change or be cancelled without prior notice.

Eligibility

You must be a residential Cherryland member with an active electric account. Commercial properties do not qualify. Equipment must be installed at a property in Cherryland’s Michigan service territory, be new and working, and satisfy the conditions for the selected measure. Used or refurbished equipment does not qualify. Heating and cooling terms allow one incentive per eligible measure or unit, subject to the stated measure limits.

Purchases must be made from January 1 to December 31, 2026. The current programme also requires the purchase or installation to take place in 2026. Submit a complete appliance claim within 60 days of purchase, or a heating and cooling claim within 60 days of installation.

All retained heating and cooling measures require installation by a licensed Michigan contractor except smart thermostats. Members cannot verify their own installation; if a contractor service call is needed, you pay for it. You must have the right to install the measures, including any necessary landlord consent. You or your contractor must confirm compliance with applicable building codes, zoning laws and other legal requirements and obtain required permits. Cherryland may verify transactions and inspect the home or installation.

You are responsible for any tax liability arising from the rebate. By applying, you permit Cherryland to store member and energy-saving information and use aggregated confidential reporting. You also release Cherryland and the related parties specified in the terms from claims connected with the application, incentives or work, and agree to defend them and cover third-party claims or losses arising from those matters. The full terms set out these obligations.

Hakukierroksen ehdot
  • Purchases must be made January 1–December 31, 2026, and current rules require purchase or installation in 2026. Apply within 60 days of appliance purchase or heating/cooling installation.[^c5][^c6][^c21][^c26]
  • Limited funds, first come first served; payment depends on funds remaining at approval. Rates can change or the programme can be cancelled without notice.[^c7]
  • Use the separate heating and cooling form for those measures.[^c21]

Check the equipment requirements in the rebate guide, then apply through the home appliance form within 60 days of purchase or the heating and cooling form within 60 days of installation. Enter your member account and equipment details and upload an itemised receipt showing equipment type, make, model, price, serial numbers and purchase date. For heating and cooling, provide the installation invoice; measures requiring a licensed contractor also need the installing contractor’s invoice detailing the equipment.

Submit complete, truthful information and electronically sign the claim. Cherryland can inspect the items at any time and recover the full rebate plus interest if the information is false. Keep copies of your application and accompanying documents. Contact Cherryland Member Services on (231) 486-9200 for programme help.
