Tämän rahoitusmahdollisuuden kuvaus on toistaiseksi englanniksi.

Finance the construction, expansion or purchase of renewable-energy installations, including planning and installation costs. Eligible uses include solar, wind, hydropower up to 20 MW, biomass-based combined heat and power, biogas, solar thermal and heat pumps. Renewable-fed heating and cooling networks and storage can also qualify.

The loan can also cover battery and other electricity storage, Power-to-X equipment, load management, smart metering and control systems that help integrate renewable energy into the energy system. Modernization that increases output, qualifying contracting projects and used installations are included under the detailed rules.

KfW finances up to 100% of eligible costs, with a maximum loan of €150 million per project. Terms range from two to 30 years, with up to five repayment-free initial years. Your financing partner sets the interest rate according to your financial position and collateral.

Eligibility

  • For a project in Germany, eligible applicants include people and majority-private entities acting commercially or professionally, whether established in Germany or abroad. The rules also cover specified public-law bodies, independent agricultural activity, contractors and nonprofits. Federal and state governments, municipalities and the listed dependent public entities are excluded.
  • For a project abroad, the applicant must be a company established in Germany, a foreign subsidiary of a German company, or a foreign joint venture with legal personality and at least 25% material German participation.
  • If you are an individual investing in electricity generation, you must feed into the grid or sell some of the electricity. Nonprofit applicants must feed in or sell part of the electricity or heat their project generates.
  • Renewable-electricity installations must meet the technical requirements of Germany's Renewable Energy Sources Act. Pure-heat installations using solid biomass must remain below 7.5 MW total combustion capacity at the site.
  • Fossil-fuelled electricity or heat generation, and storage directly connected with fossil generation, are excluded. The loan cannot refinance existing debt or add finance to a project already started or completed.
  • If an electricity installation receives support under the Renewable Energy Sources Act, the Combined Heat and Power Act or comparable state support, this loan must be provided without state aid. It can then be combined only with other KfW products that also contain no state aid.

Complete the electronic commercial confirmation for application, known as the gBzA, either yourself or with a financing partner. Sign it and give it to a bank or savings bank, which submits the loan request to KfW. Apply before entering a legally binding commitment for the project, such as a purchase contract.

Agree the collateral and individual interest rate with the financing partner. Start the project only after KfW has approved the funding and you have concluded the loan agreement with that partner.
