Cette fiche est actuellement disponible en anglais.
EEREWEF provides long-term loans through BIFFL for energy-efficiency and renewable-energy investments. Your company borrows the money and repays the loan, with concessional interest terms. Loans can be up to BDT 100 crore (BDT 1 billion). The loan term is flexible and longer than three years, with a flexible grace period.
There is no application fee or fee for a balance confirmation certificate. Documentation and processing expenses are charged at actual cost, including credit-information, stamp, legal and valuation charges. Overdue amounts attract a penal charge of 0.50% per year. Early repayment has a fee of up to 1% of the amount repaid early. For loans arranged with several lenders through a syndication, the syndication terms take precedence over this fee table.
Eligibility
- The loan is for an applying company. BIFFL invests in companies implementing infrastructure projects in Bangladesh.
- Energy-efficiency financing covers equipment only and requires 20% energy savings.
- Renewable-energy financing covers equipment and other items, with solar, wind, hydro and bioenergy among the technologies listed.
- BIFFL checks project eligibility, and AFD assesses technical eligibility. After AFD gives its no-objection clearance, BIFFL evaluates the finances and carries out further checks. Approval requires confirmation that the proposal meets social and environmental requirements.
