Electric car loan
A fixed-rate loan for private individuals buying a new or used fully electric car, with up to 110% financing for new cars and used cars no more than three years old.
Cette fiche est actuellement disponible en anglais.
Repay the purchase of a 100% electric car in equal monthly instalments at a fixed interest rate. New cars and used cars no more than three years old can receive up to 110% of the purchase price; for cars under three years old, you can also finance a charging station. Older used electric cars can receive financing for the full purchase price, including VAT.
The minimum loan is EUR 1,000. You can apply for up to EUR 75,000 through KBC Mobile or KBC Touch; for a larger loan, contact KBC. The amount approved depends on your income, expenditure and the cost of your car.
The minimum term is six months. The longest terms are 84 months for a new car, 72 months for a used car no more than three years old, and 60 months for an older used car. The 84-month route is for brand-new cars registered for the first time or with no more than 1,000 kilometres on the clock. KBC defines a used car as one registered for the second time with at least 1,000 kilometres on the clock.
Smaller loans have shorter legal maximum terms: 24 months for amounts up to EUR 2,500; 30 months above EUR 2,500 and up to EUR 3,700; 36 months above EUR 3,700 and up to EUR 5,600; 42 months above EUR 5,600 and up to EUR 7,500; 48 months above EUR 7,500 and up to EUR 10,000; and 60 months above EUR 10,000 and up to EUR 15,000. The calculator applies these limits.
There are no administrative or origination fees. You can repay early in full or in part by contacting your KBC branch, but an early-repayment fee applies. You have 14 calendar days to withdraw after both parties sign the contract.
Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 and have a permanent residence address in Belgium. The car must be bought by a private individual, and KBC must approve your credit application.
- If you are married, apply in both spouses’ names. If you are unmarried, you can apply alone or with your cohabiting partner if that partner is also a KBC client. Make an appointment if more than two people want to borrow together.
- You must be the sole or joint holder of the payment account used to receive the loan and make repayments. You can use a KBC account or repay by direct debit from an account at another financial institution.

Use the calculator on KBC’s electric vehicle loan page to enter the amount and term, then apply online. Existing customers can apply in KBC Mobile or KBC Touch; you can apply through the website even if you are not a KBC customer.
Provide an order form or invoice and return the signed contract documents. When the car is delivered, notify KBC by returning the disbursement instruction form by post, fax or email. KBC releases the loan after delivery and receipt of those documents. The money goes to the account used for repayments. Equal monthly repayments begin one month after you receive the loan.
