Equity investment and growth support for established, profitable technology companies that help industry use resources more efficiently.

Cette fiche est actuellement disponible en anglais.

Alder invests capital and becomes an owner of your company, prioritising majority ownership and investing alongside management or the entrepreneur. Development support includes product development, expansion into new markets, acquisitions and more efficient internal processes.

The investment themes cover natural resources, building efficiency, intelligent infrastructure and sustainable industry. Examples include renewable energy, energy storage, transport, renovation, efficient manufacturing and circular processes that recover and reuse materials.

Eligibility

  • The focus is established companies with positive cash flows, profitability and substantial growth potential. Alder primarily invests in companies established in the Nordics and makes selected investments elsewhere in Europe, particularly German-speaking countries.
  • Alder’s investment overview seeks companies with turnover of EUR 10–75 million. Its sustainability disclosure describes established companies with profitable growth and turnover of SEK 100–850 million.
  • More than 50% of the company’s activities must deliver or enable measurable environmental benefits aligned with the fund’s objectives. When acquiring the company, Alder must establish that it will be able to show measurable year-on-year progress during ownership in at least one of these areas: avoiding greenhouse gas emissions; avoiding releases of other pollutants; or avoiding the use of non-renewable raw materials or renewable resources whose supply is under pressure, through circular processes that recover and reuse resources. Alternatively, the company can deliver a critical solution that enables these improvements when other businesses further along the supply and customer chain use that solution.
  • Alder assesses environmental, social and governance risks before investing. Identified serious risks must be mitigated for the investment to proceed. Its policy automatically excludes companies in sectors including alcoholic beverages, gaming, tobacco, pornography and weapons.
  • During ownership, the company must integrate a sustainability strategy into its business strategy, adopt a board-approved code of conduct covering Alder’s relevant requirements, and assess and act on risks across suppliers and customers in line with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. Progress against environmental impact and operational targets is followed up every two months through company representatives to Alder’s sustainability manager and quarterly by the board.
