Heat-pump water-heater grant

EKZSuisseclôture 31 janv. 2028

CHF 800 per boiler for EKZ electricity customers replacing a central electric water heater in a single-family home in canton Zurich.

Cette fiche est actuellement disponible en anglais.

A heat-pump water heater takes heat from the room air to heat your hot water, using less electricity than direct electric heating. The heat pump is built into the water heater; you do not need a separate heat pump or solar installation.

EKZ pays CHF 800 for each replaced boiler after approving the claim, normally within about four weeks. Other grants can be combined with this contribution if their respective conditions are met.

Eligibility

  • You must buy your electricity from EKZ. The programme supports households in canton Zurich replacing an existing central electric boiler in their single-family home with its own heating system. New construction is excluded.
  • The existing central boiler must supply hot water to the whole house, be in the same room as the heating system and heat water exclusively with electricity.
  • The replacement must have a Swiss energy label of class A+, a valid EHPA quality seal and be available on the Swiss market. There is no required brand. The EHPA seal is a European Heat Pump Association quality label confirming equipment quality, performance and reliability.
  • A plumbing or heating firm must install the new water heater between 1 May 2026 and 31 December 2027.
