Eligibility
You must be the property's RMU account holder or landlord, or a tenant with RMU service. This is a residential-customer offer for the utility's service properties in the Rochelle area of Illinois. Your RMU account must be current to receive the credit.
Only one incentive per upgrade type per household per year is allowed. Receipts must be from the current or previous calendar year. Funding must remain available; RMU can discontinue incentives at any time and may inspect the property before issuing a credit.
- A contractor must install the attic insulation, adding at least R-19 and achieving a final insulation value of R-49 or more. These are the added and final insulation ratings to check for the work.
- Windows must be ENERGY STAR qualified with a U-factor of 0.30 or less. Exterior doors must be ENERGY STAR qualified for the Northern Zone and contain less than 50% glass. Supply the NFRC label for windows or doors so RMU can check the product.
- Appliance purchases must be local, and appliances need their FTC Energy Guide label. Refrigerators and freezers must be at least 7.75 cubic feet and ENERGY STAR qualified. Clothes washers, electric clothes dryers and dishwashers must also be ENERGY STAR qualified. Appliances must be properly disposed of.
- Central air-conditioning units must have a cooling capacity strictly below 72,000 Btuh (6 tons). Supply a receipt showing SEER/SEER2, EER and cooling capacity; the listed efficiency band determines the credit.
