Investment for energy-transition startups entering the market
An investment averaging €3 million for energy-transition startups in Europe or North America that are bringing a software or hardware product to market; EDF takes a minority ownership stake.
Cette fiche est actuellement disponible en anglais.
EDF provides capital and becomes a minority part-owner of your company rather than a lender. The investment is not repaid like a loan; EDF says its capital contribution has no predefined duration and takes part in governance, and that it seeks a place on portfolio companies' boards.
EDF publishes an average investment of €3 million. This is an indication of deal size, not a guaranteed amount.
Portfolio companies can also pursue commercial partnerships with EDF businesses or other portfolio companies, use EDF's research and development expertise, and receive strategic support based on market monitoring and sector studies.
