Zero-emission truck purchase and leasing grant
Grants help businesses with a Polish headquarters or branch buy new zero-emission trucks or cover the initial capital payment on a lease.
Cette fiche est actuellement disponible en anglais.
You can fund a factory-new N2 or N3 truck powered by battery electricity, hydrogen fuel cells, or another exclusively zero-emission engine. The support is administered by NFOŚiGW using its Modernisation Fund resources.
N2 covers goods vehicles with a maximum mass above 3.5 tonnes and up to 12 tonnes; N3 covers those above 12 tonnes.
The maximum rate is 60% for micro and small businesses, 50% for medium businesses and 30% for large businesses. The grant is capped at PLN 400,000 per N2 vehicle and PLN 750,000 per N3 vehicle. These rates apply to the eligible costs after subtracting a comparable conventional vehicle, rather than the full truck price.
For a purchase, subtract the price of a comparable non-zero-emission vehicle of the same category that meets applicable EU standards. For leasing, the reference is the present value of capital instalments for that comparable vehicle; running costs such as energy, insurance and maintenance are excluded. A leasing grant covers only the initial payment towards vehicle capital, excluding other fees, and cannot exceed that initial payment.
Company size follows the EU SME definition: check staff numbers and either turnover or balance-sheet total, including group data where required. VAT is eligible only if the vehicle will not be used for any VAT-taxable activity.
Eligibility
- You must be an entrepreneur under Polish Entrepreneurs Law with a headquarters or branch in Poland. A bank or financial institution does not qualify merely because it co-owns the vehicle as security for purchase finance.
- Your business must be trading when you apply and must not have been suspended during the preceding 12 months. Tax and social-contribution arrears are excluded unless the specified lawful relief, deferral or repayment arrangements apply. Your financial position must allow you to keep the investment for its required five years. You are excluded if NFOŚiGW terminated a funding agreement for reasons attributable to you in the three years before applying; termination by mutual agreement is exempt. NFOŚiGW also checks compliance with your public and contractual obligations and legal or sanctions exclusions.
- Apply before the first binding purchase or lease commitment, or any other commitment making the investment irreversible. Costs are eligible no earlier than the application date and no later than 31 December 2029.
- The vehicle must be factory-new, unregistered before purchase, and have no more than 6,000 km on acquisition. Keep it registered in Poland, insured with liability and comprehensive cover, marked as funded, and unsold for at least five years from completion. A lease must last at least five years. Purchase registration must be in the beneficiary owner’s name; a leased vehicle may be registered to the lessee or leasing company.
- Over those five years, average annual mileage must be strictly above 25,000 km for N2 and 50,000 km for N3. N3 trucks used exclusively for statutory municipal, county or regional public tasks have a lower threshold, strictly above 15,000 km; this exception excludes public passenger transport.
- The vehicle must not carry fossil fuels. Meet the Do No Significant Harm environmental test and retain evidence for the final assessment, including vehicle approval, maintenance and lawful waste handling. The template also checks tyre noise in the highest class and rolling resistance in the two highest classes.
- Combined funding from this grant and other national or foreign public sources must not exceed 100% of any supported cost. A lease initial-payment grant is unavailable if this programme has already subsidised the vehicle’s purchase. Your applications together with linked businesses may not exceed 15% of the call budget.
- Each vehicle is a separate investment, although one application may cover several. Annual awards in each N2/N3 category cannot exceed the number of combustion vehicles scrapped in Poland in that category that calendar year.

NFOŚiGW assesses eligibility, the vehicle investment, financial capacity and applicable state-aid rules before signing a grant agreement. For lease or credit finance, the finance provider must give a positive credit assessment before the grant agreement. For a purchase financed with your own money, grant payment requires the purchase invoice and proof of payment. Security for repayment of the grant is required before payment. You must repay all or part of the grant if you use it contrary to the agreement or receive money you were not entitled to.
The grant is paid as reimbursement. The current agreement requires yearly insurance and inspection records, a mileage statement after two years, and a signed statement confirming the five-year obligations within 30 days after that period ends.
