Green energy consumer loan

Libra Internet BankRoumanie10–150 k RON

A consumer loan for Romanian residents to install clean-energy equipment, renovate an existing building or buy an electric passenger vehicle.

Cette fiche est actuellement disponible en anglais.

You can borrow RON 10,000–150,000 from Libra Internet Bank for approved green investments. Examples include solar panels, solar thermal systems, equipment using energy from air or surface water, electric passenger vehicles and their charging infrastructure. Installation and commissioning can also be financed for these investments. Sustainable biomass equipment is eligible, but firewood is excluded and combined heat-and-electricity equipment must not burn fossil fuels alongside biomass.

You repay the money with interest over 12–60 months, through equal or declining instalments, with no grace period. The page advertises a fixed annual interest rate of 7.81%; a variable-rate option adds a margin based on your customer profile to IRCC, Romania’s consumer-credit reference index. That option’s interest and payments can change with the index. Libra’s fixed-rate example for RON 75,000 over five years gives monthly payments of RON 1,511.86 and a total repayment of RON 90,800.05, illustrating that repayment includes more than the money borrowed.

Security includes a charge over current accounts at Libra and the borrower’s present and future assets. A spouse’s surety is required for exposures above RON 30,000: the spouse guarantees the borrowing. The offer lists an 80% EBRD guarantee among its security arrangements; you still repay the loan and interest.

Eligibility

  • You must be a Romanian citizen or a foreign citizen legally resident in Romania, under the bank’s Romanian-residency requirement. Your net income must be at least RON 3,500 and come from salary or pension income earned in Romania.
  • The published employment-history requirement is at least six uninterrupted months at your current workplace and 12 months of total employment history. The approved amount depends on your individual credit score.
  • For partial renovation of an existing building, measures or equipment must be on a pre-approved list. Examples include insulation and replacement windows and doors. Heating, ventilation and air-conditioning equipment, boilers and stoves powered by fossil fuels are excluded.
  • Substantial renovation of an existing building must follow the national and regional major-renovation rules implementing the EU Energy Performance of Buildings Directive. The listed energy tests are an improvement of at least one energy-performance-certificate class to a final level at least one class above national requirements, or a reduction of at least 30% in primary energy demand compared with the building before renovation. For the 30% test, the energy demand after renovation is compared with the building’s pre-renovation baseline. Libra checks whether your proposed expenditure qualifies before approving the loan.
