This is equity funding: Climate Tech Partners provides capital and receives an ownership interest in your company. It invests in software, hardware and deep-technology companies developing solutions for energy, transport and industrial sectors. Alongside the money, it offers access to corporate partners and strategic advice.
It tends to invest A$1 million to A$5 million. Several factors affect the final size, and it may reserve capital for later investments in the same company.
The company must show real potential for positive climate impact. Relevant approaches include direct emissions reduction, technologies that enable climate action, adaptation, monitoring, carbon removal and regeneration.
Eligibility
Your company must:
- develop software, hardware or deep technology for sale to other businesses, either directly or through a consumer-facing partner; Climate Tech Partners does not invest in companies that sell only to consumers
- show real potential for positive climate impact
- focus on energy, transport or industrial applications
The firm mainly invests in companies seeking a Series A funding round. It says the round name is less important than your company's actual stage and readiness to work with potential corporate partners. It is also open to meeting companies seeking Seed or Series B rounds.
Food, agricultural technology, financial technology and nature-based solutions are currently very unlikely to be reviewed.
Companies can be based worldwide. Climate Tech Partners gives extra focus to OECD member countries, but companies elsewhere remain within its global scope. It can act as the lead investor in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore. In other countries, it will invest only in a round led by another investor.
