Investment in digital energy technology
SET usually invests €2–5 million initially in European digital-energy companies and receives an ownership stake rather than repayment of a loan.

SET Ventures invests in digital technologies for a cleaner, more local, automated and resilient energy system. Its scope includes energy for buildings, electric mobility, digital utilities, distributed energy, industrial energy management, and AI and other enabling technologies for energy.
SET usually invests €2–5 million in a €3–10 million round. It can invest further in later rounds, up to €15 million in one company in total.
Eligibility
SET focuses on late seed and Series A, early investment rounds intended to propel a company's growth. Series A is the usual focus, but SET may consider a company slightly earlier or further along.
For a software company, SET expects evidence that customers want and use the product and that sales can support a healthy business. A company built around strong intellectual property may instead have a prototype backed by clear customer demand. The solution must also have a commercial focus and fit SET's digital-energy scope.
SET assesses the environmental impact of every proposed investment from the start. The investment must also pass its check that the solution does not cause significant environmental or social harm.
