Energy Star appliance and control rebates

Park Electric CooperativeMontana

Bill credits for residential members installing efficient electric appliances, thermostats or timers in homes served by Park Electric.

Cette fiche est actuellement disponible en anglais.

Receive a credit on your electricity bill when you buy and install qualifying equipment for a new home or to replace existing appliances.

Energy Star verified electric clothes washers and dryers each receive $50; a washer/dryer combination receives $100. Qualifying electric refrigerators receive $75 and freezers $50. An Energy Star certified dishwasher receives $50.

Smart or programmable thermostats and qualifying timers receive 50% of the item cost, up to $75. Thermostat rebates are limited to two per household. Timers can control electric water heaters or other large electrical loads, such as engine block heaters and heat tape; Park Electric decides whether the controlled load qualifies.

Eligibility

You must be a current residential Park Electric member, and install the equipment in a member-owned home on Park Electric lines. For washers, dryers, refrigerators and freezers, the application forms also allow installation in your rental home on Park Electric lines. The cooperative serves much of Park and Sweet Grass counties and parts of Gallatin and Meagher counties, Montana; your home must actually be served by the cooperative.

  • Washers, dryers, refrigerators and freezers must be electric and verified as Energy Star qualified. Dishwashers must be Energy Star certified.
  • Thermostats must control electric heating or cooling. Timers and thermostats controlling gas or propane appliances are excluded. Check with the office that your timer purchase qualifies.
  • Your signed application certifies installation at the service address and that the equipment will stay there for its lifetime. You grant Park Electric or its agents permission to inspect it; the cooperative does not take responsibility for repairs or replacement.

Park Electric sends thermostat recipients guidance on optimal settings and asks them to follow it. It also asks members to programme controls to avoid peak hours of 6–9 am and 5–8:30 pm; that peak-hour programming is optional.
