Residential energy efficiency loan
Borrow for insulation, air sealing and approved home energy improvements in New Hampshire through the Home Energy Performance programme.
Cette fiche est actuellement disponible en anglais.
A participating lender provides an unsecured loan to cover your share of approved home energy improvements. You repay the borrowed money over the agreed term; unsecured means the loan does not require pledged collateral. The annual percentage rate (APR), which expresses the annual cost of borrowing, is 0% for Eversource customers and 2% for Liberty, New Hampshire Electric Cooperative and Unitil customers.
Borrow between USD1,000 and USD15,000. Maximum repayment terms depend on the amount: USD1,000–2,000: two years; USD2,001–4,000: three years; USD4,001–6,000: four years; USD6,001–9,000: five years; USD9,001–12,000: six years; and USD12,001–15,000: seven years. Some lenders set a shorter maximum term. Electric utility customers borrowing under USD2,000 can ask their utility about paying through their utility bill.
Eligibility
- You must be a New Hampshire homeowner participating in Home Energy Performance through Eversource, Liberty, New Hampshire Electric Cooperative or Unitil.
- The work must qualify for Home Energy Performance rebates. The loan covers your programme cost share for insulation, air sealing and other approved energy efficiency upgrades; your utility must confirm any additional measures.
- Your lender must approve your application under its own lending criteria.
- An approved Energy Contractor assesses your home and prepares a proposal for improvements and incentives. After the work, tests verify the improvements; independent third parties may also spot-check it.
