Air-source heat pump rebate
Get $500 per ton towards a qualifying air-source heat pump for your home as a West Boylston Municipal Light Plant electric customer.
Cette fiche est actuellement disponible en anglais.
The rebate covers qualifying air-source heat pumps, including mini-splits, for heating and cooling your home. The application accommodates systems serving the whole home or part of it.
The amount uses the cooling capacity on the AHRI equipment certificate: one ton equals 12,000 BTUs of cooling capacity. Support is $500 per ton, with a limit of three tons and $1,500 per address per calendar year. Obtain the certificate from your contractor.
Rebates below $1,000 are credited to your electric bill. Rebates above $1,000 are paid by electronic funds transfer or check.
Eligibility
- You must be a West Boylston Municipal Light Plant electric customer and install the equipment at your service address.
- The heat pump must have a seasonal cooling efficiency rating (SEER2) of at least 15.2, a seasonal heating performance rating (HSPF2) of at least 8.1, and a coefficient of performance (COP) of at least 1.75 at 5°F. Have your contractor provide the equipment ratings and AHRI certificate; ratings cannot be rounded up to meet these thresholds.
- A Massachusetts licensed contractor must install it. Self-installations and ductless mini-splits that provide cooling only are excluded.
- By signing, you certify that your contractor has given you a Manual J sizing report and that you are satisfied the heat pump will meet your heating and air-conditioning needs.
- Purchase and installation must both take place between 1 January and 31 December 2026.
