Go Green Loans
Borrow for home energy improvements or electric transport if you qualify for membership of this local credit union in Limerick and Cork.
Ez a lehetőség jelenleg angolul érhető el.
The loan can pay for insulation, replacement windows and doors, boiler upgrades, solar panels, sustainable water or heating systems, home energy controls and a whole-home energy renovation (deep retrofit). You must provide a quote for the work.
You can also borrow for fully electric or plug-in hybrid cars, a home charger, electric or hybrid motorbikes, electric bikes and bicycles. Bicycle trailers and safety wear qualify when bought with a bike.
You repay the money borrowed plus interest on the amount still owed. Loans of €60,000–€100,000 have a published interest rate of 4.5% (4.59% APR); loans up to €59,999 have a rate of 5.5% (5.64% APR). APR is the annual percentage rate used to compare borrowing costs. There are no administration, transaction or arrangement fees and no penalty for early repayment. You can repay from any account; your wages do not have to be paid into a Kilmallock Credit Union account.
Eligibility
You must become a member before borrowing. Membership normally requires you to live, work or be in education within the credit union’s common bond: its local membership area from Kilmallock to Kilfinane, Anglesborough to Hospital, Fedamore to Ballingarry and Broadford to Liscarroll, including Charleville. You can also join if you live with a member, or through an existing member’s family. The membership page includes the full area map.
Loan approval depends primarily on your ability to repay, assessed using your income and outgoings. Borrowing is not limited to a multiple of your savings.
For a car, provide a detailed seller quotation or invoice showing that it is battery electric or a plug-in hybrid. The quotation must name the garage or seller and clearly identify the car type.

- Membership approval is required before applying online.
Join online or at a Kilmallock Credit Union branch. Membership needs a current passport or driving licence, proof of address dated within three months, proof of your Personal Public Service Number (PPSN), and €5.50 (€0.50 membership fee plus €5 opening share balance). If using a payslip as PPSN proof, it must be within three months. Both applicants need the same documents for a joint account. Membership documents must be reviewed and approved before the account opens.
After membership approval, apply online through CUOnline+ banking or in a branch. New members can apply without a prior savings history. Bring the work quote or qualifying car quotation/invoice.
For the loan application, the general checklist asks for two recent payslips or other income receipts below €5,000; the three most recent income receipts and three months of bank statements for €5,000–€30,000; and the six most recent income receipts and six months of bank statements above €30,000. It also requires valid identification, proof of address within six months and proof of PPSN; a Public Service Card is not acceptable for the loan. Documents may already be on file, and additional documents can be required.
Loan approval remains valid for 90 days. To receive the loan money after that period, contact the credit department.
