Greenify loan
Unsecured loans for Core Credit Union members to improve home energy efficiency or buy electric transport, subject to credit approval.

Fund insulation, solar panels, heat pumps, or replacement doors and windows to improve your home’s energy efficiency. The same loan also supports electric vehicles, bikes, motorbikes and scooters, and home EV chargers.
You can borrow up to €75,000 over up to ten years. The loan is unsecured and has a variable interest rate; the lender gives a typical annual percentage rate (APR), which expresses the annual cost of borrowing, of about 5.6%, subject to approval.
After approval, Core Credit Union pays your funds by cheque or bank transfer. You repay the loan under an agreed repayment plan, with interest calculated on the outstanding balance. There are no hidden fees or transaction charges. You can pay the loan off early, make extra lump-sum payments or increase regular repayments without a penalty. Missed repayments may put your account into arrears and affect your credit rating and access to future credit.
Eligibility
You must be a Core Credit Union member. To join, you must live or work within its common-bond area, which includes South Dublin and surrounding areas. Contact Core Credit Union or a branch if you need to confirm whether your location falls within that area.
For adult membership, provide an in-date passport or driving licence, a utility bill or bank statement from the last six months, and proof of your Irish Personal Public Service (PPS) number, such as a payslip, P60 or official government document. A minimum €11 deposit activates your account.
Loan approval depends on creditworthiness and ability to repay once you have a verifiable credit history or are an established active member. If a credit history cannot be established, larger amounts may be considered with a suitable guarantor. The lender says a second loan can be applied for once the first loan has been repaid in full; later loans are assessed on creditworthiness and ability to repay.
For the loan application, provide a passport or driving licence, a current utility bill or bank or credit-card statement, your three most recent payslips or Social Welfare receipts, and three months of current bank statements. Self-employed applicants also need accounts and a Notice of Assessment. For joint applications, both applicants must provide the listed documents.

If you are not a member, apply to join online or at a branch. Once a member, apply for Greenify through the Core CU app, at one of Core Credit Union’s offices, or by calling 01 272 5600. A staff member follows up online applications to confirm details or request further documents. If approved, collect the funds by cheque or bank transfer to start your project.
