Climate Investment provides capital from early-stage investment through growth, rather than a loan that must be repaid. Because this is equity, the investor receives an ownership interest in your company and seeks a financial return.
Alongside the money, its technical and commercialization team helps portfolio companies find deployment opportunities, make industry connections, pursue commercial contracts and develop their business strategy.
Eligibility
Your company must be nearing commercialization or already commercial, meaning it is preparing to bring its solution to market or has begun doing so. It must also have the potential to deploy at large scale and reduce greenhouse-gas emissions.
The solution must address at least one of these areas:
- energy production
- industry, including agriculture
- buildings
- transport
Climate Investment focuses on solutions that reduce methane or carbon dioxide emissions, or that store or recycle carbon dioxide.
Its current investment activity is principally in North America and Europe, with investment in China as well.
