LUSO pays the loan funds directly to your vendor, and you must provide proof of purchase.
You repay the loan over a term of up to five years. There is a $95 processing fee. The rate table dated 11 October 2026 advertises interest as low as 10.250% and an annual percentage rate (APR) of 10.595%, calculated on a $5,000 loan. Its five-year payment example is $21.37 per $1,000 borrowed; these are advertised starting rates, not a guaranteed rate for every borrower.
Eligibility
You must be a credit union member. You can join if you live, work, worship or attend school in Hampden County, Massachusetts, or if you are a relative of a current LUSO member. New members gain access to lending services.
The loan is for energy-efficient home enhancements, and proof of purchase is required.
