Heat-pump rebate
Rebates for Roughrider Electric members installing eligible ground-source or air-source heat pumps.

The rebate is based on heat-pump capacity, measured in tons. Ground-source heat pumps qualify for $150 per ton, up to $600. Air-source heat pumps, including qualifying ducted systems and mini-splits, qualify for $100 per ton, up to $400.
The rebate covers new installations or replacement of a conventional heating system. Only one rebate is allowed per member.
Eligibility
- You must be a Roughrider Electric member-owner. This is a local cooperative offer in its North Dakota service area.
- The heat pump must have been purchased and installed between January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2026.
- Ground-source heat pumps require proof of ENERGY STAR certification.
- A ducted air-source heat pump must be designated ENERGY STAR Cold Climate and have an EER2 rating of at least 10. Your heating contractor should be able to provide the AHRI Certificate of Product Ratings needed to document the equipment’s ratings.
- A mini-split must have ratings of SEER2 at least 16, EER2 at least 9 and HSPF2 at least 9.5. Use the equipment’s AHRI Certificate of Product Ratings to document its ratings; your heating contractor should be able to provide the certificate.

Funding ends when the programme’s budget is used. Roughrider Electric also reserves the right to cancel it without further notice.
