Commercial lighting retrofit incentives

Snohomish County PUDWashington

Rebates for Snohomish PUD business customers upgrading lighting and controls in commercial or industrial facilities to save electricity.

Ez a lehetőség jelenleg angolul érhető el.

The PUD compares your existing lighting with the proposed equipment and calculates savings from the reduction in wattage and the hours the lights operate. You receive estimated energy and dollar savings before the retrofit starts.

Rebates vary by equipment and operating hours. For example, the 2026 base schedule pays $21 per T5/T8 LED kit or fixture that reduces power use by 5–15 watts when operating fewer than 4,000 hours a year, $29 at 4,000–6,000 hours, and $33 above 6,000 hours. The announced increase adds 25% for T5/T8 fluorescent upgrades, including fixtures, kits, components and Type B/C LED tube lamps, for projects submitted on or after 1 August 2026; the increase starts on 1 September 2026.

Lighting controls have their own rates. Simple controls, such as occupancy or daylight sensors, have a $50 maximum per sensor; combination controls have a $70 maximum per sensor. Networked controls and controls built into individually addressable fixtures pay $10, $20, $30 or $40 per fixture for annual operating hours below 2,000, 2,000–4,000, 4,000–6,000 or above 6,000 respectively. Use the incentive schedule for the amount applying to your equipment. Funding is limited and incentives may change without notice.

Eligibility

  • You must be a Snohomish PUD customer upgrading lighting in a commercial or industrial facility. Its electricity service area includes Snohomish County and Camano Island in Washington. You can use a contractor or your own facilities staff.
  • Networked controls and luminaire-level lighting controls (LLLC), which control individual fixtures, require task tuning: set the maximum light output to 80% or less. Also use one of daylight harvesting, scheduling or occupancy sensing. Daylight harvesting adjusts lighting with available daylight; occupancy sensing responds to whether a space is occupied.
  • The LLLC incentive category requires DLC-approved, individually addressable fixtures: each fixture can be controlled separately and must have DesignLights Consortium approval.
