Business energy upgrades
Rapid-approval grants for businesses, public bodies and nonprofits improving heating, ventilation, controls, walls or roofs in buildings that are not homes in the Republic of Ireland.

Choose from grants for improvements to walls and roofs, heat pumps, pumps, ventilation and heat recovery, solar thermal, automatic controls, building management systems, and building-specific renovation design.
Installation measures use measure-specific set amounts and can receive up to 30% of eligible costs, with a maximum of €120,000 for wall and roof upgrades. Building management system optimisation can receive €2,000 at a 50% rate. Design assistance supports a detailed retrofit plan and renewable-heating design.
Eligibility
Businesses, agricultural applicants, public bodies, charities and community groups can apply for work on a non-domestic building. The premises, or the part being upgraded, must be in the Republic of Ireland and have been built before 1 January 2023.
Each measure can receive support once per Meter Point Reference Number (MPRN), the identifier for the site's electricity connection. A measure that has already received SEAI support under another scheme is ineligible, and the applicant must confirm that the measure has not received support from another government scheme.
For applicants engaged in economic activity, the grant is state aid. The new award and other de minimis aid must remain within €300,000 over a rolling three-year period; applicants above that threshold can receive support only if they meet the applicable General Block Exemption Regulation energy-performance conditions.
Your chosen company or installer must meet the requirements for the measure and be active on the relevant SEAI register when you request payment.

- Receive the grant offer before buying products or starting installation work, then complete the work and submit the payment request within eight months.
Choose the measure or measures and a company to carry out the work. Ask the company to complete the relevant pre-application information form, which supplies the technical details needed for the online application. Register through the SEAI application portal linked from the scheme page and select Business Energy Upgrades. An authorised representative of the applicant must submit the application; the contractor, installer or assessor cannot apply on the applicant's behalf.
Wait for SEAI's grant offer before buying products, paying for work or starting installation. After approval, you have eight months to complete the work and upload the payment request and declaration of works through the portal.
