Residential geothermal heat pump rebate
A rebate of $150 per cooling ton for residential members replacing a geothermal heat pump on an existing closed loop.
Questa opportunità è attualmente disponibile in inglese.
Replace your geothermal heating and cooling unit while keeping its existing closed loop. Pella Cooperative Electric pays a rebate based on the replacement unit’s cooling capacity in the AHRI equipment directory, rounded to the nearest half-ton. The rate is $150 per cooling ton. If you generate some of your own electricity, the rebate is reduced in proportion to the share supplied by the cooperative.
Eligibility
- You must be a Pella Cooperative Electric member, buying and installing the replacement unit at a residential location served by the cooperative in Iowa. The cooperative serves parts of Jasper, Mahaska, Marion, Poweshiek and Warren counties.
- Purchase the system during 2026. This entry covers replacement units on an existing closed loop.
- Your model must appear in the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) geothermal certification directory. Check the model’s GLHP ratings, the directory ratings required for closed-loop equipment; those ratings also determine the cooling capacity used for the rebate.
- The heat exchanger must keep water temperatures within the AHRI performance-test range for the equipment. Ask your contractor to check this design requirement. Systems described as “pump and dump” are excluded.
