The fund backs early-stage companies developing technology for energy, mining, transport, chemicals, steel, cement and forestry. Its focus includes using resources more efficiently, alternative fuels, substituting materials, reusing materials, using carbon as a resource, removing emissions, and tools for analysing carbon emissions and carbon markets.
Chrysalix provides venture capital: it invests in your company and becomes a part-owner. It also builds, mentors and connects companies, and the fund connects entrepreneurs with leading industrial companies.
Eligibility
The fund is for early-stage companies: businesses in the early phases of developing and bringing their technology to market. Their technology must help an industry reach carbon neutrality. The fund invests in companies worldwide, primarily in Canada, the US and Europe.
Chrysalix assesses whether the investment would make a material contribution to that industry’s carbon neutrality. It screens potential investments through a questionnaire covering environmental, social and governance matters and an exclusion list. During due diligence, it identifies these risks and develops an action plan that it monitors after investing.
