Solar Eco Loan
Borrow to buy and install solar panels, home batteries or solar water heaters if you are an Australian permanent resident new to Police Credit Union lending.

The loan covers the purchase and installation of solar photovoltaic panels, which generate electricity, home battery systems and solar water heaters.
You repay the money borrowed plus interest over up to seven years, with weekly, fortnightly or monthly payments. Extra repayments carry no penalty, and there are no early repayment or break fees.
The published variable interest rate is 6.98% a year, dated 26 May 2026 and subject to change. The 6.98% comparison rate uses a secured A$30,000 loan over five years; different amounts, terms or fees can change it. There are no ongoing monthly or annual fees, but establishment fees and fees for events such as default or loan top-ups may apply.
Eligibility
- You must be an Australian permanent resident and over 18.
- The offer is for new borrowing and people new to Police Credit Union lending. You must borrow at least A$5,000.
- You need regular income, stable employment and an acceptable credit history under Police Credit Union’s lending criteria. You also need enough surplus income after existing debts and living expenses to make the required repayments.
- Membership is open to everyone. Becoming a member requires a once-off A$10 payment for your share in the credit union.

Apply through Police Credit Union’s online credit application and select Solar Eco Loan. The form accepts applicants who are not yet members. You can also call the lender on 1300 131 844.
To open membership by post or in a branch, complete the membership forms and return them with photo identification. Call 1300 131 844 to arrange a branch appointment.
