Climate adaptation grant

Gemeente DrimmelenNederland

Homeowners and tenants in Drimmelen can get a grant to replace garden paving with permanent planting.

Denne finansieringsmuligheten er foreløpig beskrevet på engelsk.

Replace at least 4 m² of paving with greenery. The tile-to-green measure pays €6 per m² for up to 100 m², capped at €600. Eligible costs include soil, permanent plants, removal of the original paving and eligible gardening-contractor work.

This is one measure within Klimaatbestendig Drimmelen. A household can apply for different measures during the scheme, with a combined limit of €3,000. Grants received under the former green-roof and façade scheme do not count towards this limit.

Eligibility

You must live in Drimmelen and be a private individual who owns or rents a home in the municipality. Business premises and business homes are excluded. Tenants need written permission from their landlord.

The depaving grant excludes moving cables or pipes, electrical installations and other facilities, annual bedding plants and delivery costs. Replacing existing greenery, your own labour, your own staff’s work and application costs are also excluded. Deliberately splitting a package to stay below a threshold is grounds for refusal.

Apply before work starts and wait for the award before commissioning the work. Starting before applying normally leads to refusal; the rules make an exception for an emergency. The work must contribute sufficiently to a climate-adapted living environment.

How to apply

Vilkår for søknadsrunden
  • Subject to the €50,000 annual budget and the completed-application queue.

Apply to Gemeente Drimmelen using its Klimaatbestendig Drimmelen application form, or request a paper form at the municipal public desk. For replacing paving, include photographs of the current paving, a planting plan or sketch and a quotation or cost estimate. Tenants also supply their landlord’s permission.

The municipality states that it decides within eight weeks. If your application is incomplete, you have up to three months from its receipt to complete it; otherwise it will not be processed. The completed application determines your place in the queue. The annual budget is €50,000; applications received on the same day are funded proportionately if together they would exceed the remaining budget.

Complete the work and submit the final grant claim within six months of the award. Submit a completion notice within six weeks after finishing, with a photograph of the result, the invoice and proof of payment. These deadlines apply together: the six-week notice period does not extend the six-month final-claim deadline. Cooperate with inspection. The municipality can reduce the grant if work is incomplete after six months, the information was incorrect or award conditions were not met; its final decision specifies payment.
