Leak Assessment and Repair Program
Help with the cost of finding and fixing compressed-air leaks and leaking steam traps in Manitoba business facilities.

Efficiency Manitoba pays 50% of a pre-qualified provider’s leak-assessment cost. You pay the other half. After repairs are verified, you can receive CA$100 per compressed-air leak repaired or CA$150 per steam-trap leak repaired. Under this provider-led route, the total repair or replacement incentive is capped at 50% of the assessment cost.
Facilities can instead apply to carry out their own assessment. This route offers the same per-leak repair or replacement incentives, up to CA$20,000. That cap applies to the self-assessment route.
Eligibility
The programme serves Manitoba facilities and is designed for industrial, commercial and agricultural sites using substantial compressed-air energy or large steam boilers and distribution systems with many steam traps. Efficiency Manitoba will assess whether your facility qualifies.
- For the provider-led route, get project pre-approval with a pre-qualified service provider before its assessment. If you want to conduct your own assessment, apply for that route first.
- For that provider-led route, complete leak repairs or replace failed or leaking steam traps within six months of the assessment. The provider verifies repairs and energy savings, and Efficiency Manitoba confirms them before paying the repair incentive.

Use the programme’s “Get in touch” page to request facility screening. Once Efficiency Manitoba confirms the programme fits, select a provider from its pre-qualified list and work with them to obtain project pre-approval. Apply for the self-assessment option if you intend to use your own team.
The provider tags leaks and prepares a report showing the energy and money being wasted. You are billed for half the assessment cost. Arrange repairs within six months, then have the provider verify the work and energy savings so Efficiency Manitoba can confirm and pay the repair incentives.
