Residential energy-efficiency rebates
Utility-bill credits help Ocala Electric Utility residential customers buy qualifying efficient appliances, air conditioners, heat pumps and water heaters.

Approved rebates reduce your utility bill and may take up to 30 days to process.
The listed rebates are $75 for a refrigerator or dishwasher, $100 for a clothes washer and $50 for a freezer. An eligible air conditioner or heat pump receives $250; an eligible heat-pump or solar water heater receives $450. These are amounts for the listed equipment, and a rebate cannot exceed its total installed cost.
Eligibility
- Install new equipment at a permanent residence receiving Ocala Electric Utility residential electric service. Purchased equipment must qualify for ENERGY STAR and be currently listed on the ENERGY STAR products website; check that your chosen model is listed before claiming.
- Refrigerators and freezers must have a capacity of at least 7.75 cubic feet.
- Air conditioners and heat pumps must also have AHRI certification and meet the form’s minimum ratings of 15 SEER for cooling and 8.2 HSPF for heating. Use the equipment’s certification to check these efficiency ratings.
- Rebates for replacing existing appliances exclude new construction.
- Rebates are subject to approval and may change without notice. They are credited to the customer, with no payment to an equipment vendor or installation contractor.

After buying and installing qualifying equipment, complete the rebate application in full and provide proof of installation. Include the paid receipt showing the purchase date, brand and model number.
