Energy Efficiency Grant
Help with buying approved energy-saving equipment for Singapore construction, food-service and retail businesses. Base support is capped at S$30,000 per company; larger construction investments can qualify for advanced support.
Denne finansieringsmuligheten er foreløpig beskrevet på engelsk.
The Energy Efficiency Grant (EEG) co-funds equipment purchases to cut energy use. Construction, food-service and retail businesses can use its base tier for pre-approved equipment.
Until 31 March 2027, the published base-tier rates are up to 70% of qualifying equipment costs for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and up to 30% for larger businesses. An SME has group annual sales of no more than S$100 million or no more than 200 employees across the group. Each company’s base grants together are capped at S$30,000 for the period 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2027.
Construction businesses can seek advanced support for equipment that saves more than 350 tonnes of carbon emissions over its lifetime, verified by an independent assessor approved by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA). Eligible categories include electric excavators, electric wheel loaders, electric crawler cranes and battery energy storage systems used directly in construction. Equipment need not be on the base tier’s pre-approved list, but unrelated uses such as air conditioning do not qualify. Funding is the lower of the applicable base-tier percentage and the amount calculated from expected lifetime carbon savings. The company’s combined base and advanced grants cannot exceed S$350,000.
Only the equipment purchase is covered. Delivery, installation and administration cost extra; construction advanced-tier applicants also pay their own assessment costs. You pay the equipment bill in full before claiming reimbursement under the base tier, and the grant is paid only after the claim is approved.
Eligibility
Your business must be registered and operating in Singapore, have at least 30% local shareholding and group annual sales of no more than S$500 million. Equipment must be used in Singapore. The eligible activities described here are:
- Construction under Singapore Standard Industrial Classification (SSIC) codes 41–43.
- Food services under SSIC 56 or 68104, with a valid Singapore Food Agency licence.
- Retail under SSIC 47.
SSIC is the business-activity code in your registration. Normally use the application form matching your primary registered activity; if the equipment is supported only for your secondary activity, you may use that sector’s form instead. Sole proprietors and partnerships can qualify if they meet the other conditions.
Charities, Institutions of Public Character, religious entities, voluntary welfare organisations, government agencies and their subsidiaries, cooperative societies and societies are excluded. Businesses operating from residential addresses, including home businesses, are also excluded.
Do not sign a contract, pay a deposit or pay a vendor before submitting the application. Choose an independent vendor: the rules bar relationships or connections with your business, related companies, directors or common shareholders, and require you to declare vendor relationships. Do not accept gifts or other incentives tied to the purchase; reject and return them. Vendors cannot help prepare or submit the grant application on your behalf.
Keep base-tier equipment for at least one year from approval of the final claim. You must still meet the eligibility conditions when claiming; losing eligibility after approval means the claim will not be supported.

For construction Advanced and food-service or retail Base applications, the published application deadline is 31 March 2027.
The government has announced that the Base tier will expand to all sectors and extend to 31 March 2028. Enterprise Singapore says further details will be provided. For construction Base applications, follow BCA’s sector-specific guidance and its linked June 2026 extension circular. The rates and aggregate-cap period stated above run to 31 March 2027.
Check the official supported-equipment list, obtain a quote and apply yourself through the Business Grants Portal using CorpPass, the business login. Construction base and advanced applications use that portal; advanced applications need the independent carbon-savings assessment. BCA lists approved assessors on its EEG page.
Prepare itemised quotations, product brochures, deployment-location documents, financial statements and corporate-structure information where needed. Food-service and retail businesses must supply a current tenancy agreement showing that they are operating at the proposed location. Unaudited statements or management accounts can be used where audited accounts are unavailable; new businesses can use year-to-date accounts. Apply separately for different equipment models.
After submitting, you may purchase and install at your own risk: an unsuccessful application means no claim can be paid. Follow the project period recorded in the portal. The published allowance is up to one year from approval to purchase, install and submit reimbursement claims. Base applications usually take four to ten weeks once documents are complete.
For a base-tier claim, upload the approved-model invoice, proof of full payment, delivery order and photographs showing the installed equipment and serial number where applicable. Request any one-time claim-deadline extension before the deadline expires; after expiry you cannot submit a claim or extend it.
An approved vendor or equipment-package change requires terminating the application and submitting a new one before proceeding or paying the new vendor. Construction applications are handled by BCA; food-service and retail applications by Enterprise Singapore.
