naturliebeStrom customer climate grant
A grant for naturliebeStrom customers replacing old household appliances with energy-efficient models.

This page covers the replacement-appliance route of the customer climate programme. The grant pays 20% of net acquisition costs, up to €200 in total for the appliance category. Several appliances can qualify in a year, but each appliance type can be subsidised only once per household. The programme-wide household ceiling is €500 a year, regardless of how many electricity meters you have.
Stadtwerke Menden may calculate the subsidy using the usual market price if your invoice differs significantly from it. Awards depend on available funds and are considered in order of receipt; meeting the conditions creates no legal entitlement. The provider may change or discontinue the programme.
Eligibility
- You must be a private or business customer of the naturliebeStrom green-electricity tariff, subject to creditworthiness. Existing customers must already have held the tariff when purchasing the appliance. In 2026, eligible purchases start on 1 January 2026.
- New customers must conclude a naturliebeStrom supply contract within 14 days of the invoice date, with electricity supply beginning in the purchase year. Payment follows the 14-day cancellation period and cannot precede the start of supply.
- Your residence, the address on your customer account and the invoice address must match. Common-area electricity meters in rental properties are excluded. Funding is per household, rather than per meter.
- Replace an old appliance with a new class A washing machine, a class A–C dishwasher, refrigerator or freezer, or a class A–C heat-pump dryer under the label applicable from July 2025. You must dispose of the replaced appliance properly.
- You must remain a naturliebeStrom customer for 12 months from payment. Stadtwerke Menden may demand proportional repayment if you terminate the electricity-supply contract early.

- Applications are processed in arrival order while funds remain. Apply in person at the customer centre. Purchases must fall in 2026.

Provide a German-language invoice showing the purchaser’s name and full address matching the customer account, the manufacturer and model, net and gross costs, and purchase/invoice date.
Submit by 30 November 2026 while funds remain. The purchase must fall in the current calendar year; applications that cannot be approved cannot be carried into the next year. After checking your application, Stadtwerke Menden pays into your nominated bank account; cash payment is unavailable.
