Early-stage investment for climate mitigation and resilience
Vitamin°C invests €0.5–1.5 million at pre-seed and seed—the earliest stages of developing a company and its solution. It focuses on Western Europe and North America and screens for measurable emissions reductions or stronger climate resilience.

Vitamin°C backs early-stage climate companies through venture investment. Equity financing gives an investor an ownership stake in the company. Its published ticket range is €0.5–1.5 million, and it can lead a funding round, share the lead with another investor, or join a round led by someone else. Its focus includes green energy, food and agriculture, carbon removal and adaptation to climate change.
The fund combines financial-return objectives with a forward-looking impact test. Each investment must credibly target the potential, within five years, either to mitigate or remove at least 100,000 tonnes of CO₂ annually or to improve the resilience of 100,000 people annually. These are alternative impact routes; founders need a credible case for how their solution can reach the relevant scale.
The fund’s formal identity is Vitamin°C I Fund SCSp, managed by Vitamin°C I GP SARL. Its disclosure describes environmental and governance screening and monitoring. The disclosure promotes environmental and governance characteristics without making sustainable investment its objective under the EU disclosure rules. The practical climate-impact screen above applies to each investment.
Eligibility
The focus is pre-seed and seed companies: businesses developing their solution and establishing their initial operations. The published geographic focus is Western Europe and North America. The sector examples include energy transition, food and agriculture, carbon removal and climate adaptation.
Before investment, the fund assesses the company’s projected climate impact, environmental and social risks, and how it is governed. Checks cover direct emissions, emissions from purchased energy and, where relevant and feasible, emissions elsewhere in the value chain; risks to biodiversity-sensitive areas; board composition; and compliance policies. The assessment considers a credible pathway to mitigation or adaptation impact under the fund’s Impact Framework.
The fund excludes companies materially involved in fossil-fuel exploration and production, coal-related activities, controversial weapons or tobacco production. It also excludes serious and systematic violations of the UN Global Compact principles or OECD Guidelines—standards covering responsible business conduct.
Portfolio companies are monitored through periodic data collection and engagement on climate measurement, sustainability reporting and governance. Data collection is proportionate to the company’s size and development stage; the fund recognises that early companies may have limited operational data and that forward-looking impact estimates depend on assumptions.
