Climate-tech investment
Equity investment of €1–5 million for European climate-tech startups, mainly at seed stage, working in energy, industrial decarbonisation or systemic resilience.

AENU invests €1–5 million initially and may provide follow-on investment of up to €10 million. AENU provides the money to your company. In return, it receives an ownership stake or uses another type of investment linked to company ownership. AENU prefers to lead or co-lead the funding round and always takes board representation in this role.
Eligibility
Your company needs to fit these points:
- AENU invests in European startups. Its Fund II disclosure specifies the EU, United Kingdom and EFTA countries as its geographic focus when it first invests.
- Seed is the main stage. Pre-seed and early Series A companies are considered selectively.
- The current strategy covers hardware, software and AI-native solutions across energy, industrial decarbonisation and systemic resilience.
- Climate impact must be measurable, built into the business model and inseparable from commercial success. AENU also assesses whether that impact is additional to what would happen otherwise.
Fund II excludes fossil-fuel extraction and high-emission industries that conflict with decarbonisation. Genetically modified organisms and clean-transition technologies require extensive due diligence and special approval from the fund.

Submit your pitch deck through AENU's contact page. The form asks for your contact and company details, stage, amount being raised, headquarters location, a description of the company, website and pitch deck.
AENU first reviews the submission. If it sees a fit, it arranges an introductory call, followed by due diligence on the technology, market and impact case. Its investment committee makes the final decision. AENU says the whole process typically takes four to eight weeks, but it cannot promise a reply to every submission.
