MaPrimeRénov’
Grants for homeowners and landlords in France to replace eligible heating equipment or carry out a larger home energy renovation.
Deze mogelijkheid is momenteel in het Engels beschikbaar.
MaPrimeRénov’ pays towards eligible renovation costs through two routes. It is a grant, not a loan: Anah pays it by bank transfer, but can recover money if the funded work does not comply with the award. You pay the costs not covered by aid.
- A larger renovation — Rénovation d’ampleur: combine insulation and other improvements to raise the home's energy rating. The grant covers 80%, 60%, 45% or 10% of eligible costs before VAT for very-low-, low-, intermediate- or higher-income households respectively. The spending used to calculate it is capped at €30,000 for a two-class improvement, or €40,000 for three or more classes. These are spending limits, not grant amounts. All aid combined is capped at 100%, 90%, 80% or 50% of costs including VAT, in the same income order.
- Targeted works — Parcours par geste: the grant depends on the equipment and income category. For an air-to-water heat pump, it is €5,000, €4,000 or €3,000 for very-low-, low- or intermediate-income households, with eligible spending capped at €12,000. The current mainland list also covers specified ground-source or solar-assisted heat pumps, connection to predominantly renewable or recovered-energy heating/cooling networks, oil-tank removal and a non-mandatory energy audit. Overseas schedules add measures such as solar water heating, solar shading, ventilated over-roofs and cladding.
For a larger renovation, compulsory project assistance has separate support: 100% for very-low-income households, 80% for low-income households, 40% for intermediate-income households and 20% for higher-income households, normally within a €2,000 ceiling. The ceiling rises to €4,000 if you occupy a dangerous or unhealthy home, or if you have difficulty meeting your household’s energy needs and have very low income (the programme’s energy-poverty condition).
For the larger-renovation route, Anah already includes support from energy suppliers under the energy-saving certificate scheme (CEE): you must not claim it separately. Targeted works can combine the grant with CEE support and other listed aid, but all aid must be declared. A repeat targeted-works grant within five years requires the first to have been paid and the combined grants for the home to stay within €20,000.
Eligibility
You must own and occupy the home, rent it out, or hold a property right allowing you to use or rent it, such as usufruct. A buyer with a signed purchase agreement can apply, but must prove ownership before payment. This entry covers the individual-owner routes, not the separate MaPrimeRénov’ Copropriété offer.
The funded home must be a main residence: normally occupied at least eight months a year, with exceptions for work obligations, health or circumstances beyond your control. Occupancy or letting must begin within one year of requesting the final grant payment. Landlords must let it as a main residence for at least six years, tell tenants about the grant and deduct the grant from renovation costs used to justify a rent increase, informing the tenant of that deduction.
To find your income category, use the revenu fiscal de référence (RFR) shown on your income-tax notice: this is the tax authority’s household-income figure, not simply your take-home pay. The programme uses the previous year’s RFR — 2025 for applications in 2026 — and counts the income of everyone occupying the home. For rented homes, it uses the landlord’s income instead. Compare that figure with the official programme income tables, selecting your household size and whether the home is in Île-de-France or elsewhere. The targeted mainland route covers very-low-, low- and intermediate-income households; higher-income overseas households have support only for the listed ventilated over-roofs and cladding.
For a larger renovation:
- The home must be in metropolitan France, at least 15 years old when the award is notified, and initially rated E, F or G on the DPE, the home's energy-performance rating. Owner occupiers must live there for at least three years.
- Improve the rating by at least two classes, for example F to D. Include at least two insulation categories: walls, lower floors, roof/attic or windows/French windows. Each selected category must meet the programme's minimum surface requirement of 25% of the home.
- Have the before-and-after rating established through qualified energy audits. The permitted replacement rating certificate must refer to the same work scenario as the audit.
- Since 1 September 2026, single-family houses cannot retain gas heating after the work; heat pumps with gas or oil backup cannot be funded under this route.
For targeted works: the usual mainland minimum home age is 15 years, reduced to two years for the specified heat pumps and network connections. In Guadeloupe, French Guiana, Martinique, Mayotte and Réunion, the home must be more than two years old and the overseas work schedule applies.
Equipment must meet the programme's technical criteria. Use a contractor with the required RGE qualification for energy-renovation work. Network connections are exempt from this qualification requirement; targeted overseas solar-shading work is also exempt.
How to apply
- Status
- Doorlopend open
- Beperkingen per ronde
- Awards depend on Anah’s assessment and annual budget.[^c29]
- Contact a France Rénov’ adviser on 0 808 800 700, with your latest tax notice. Advice is free, plus the cost of the call. For a larger renovation, the appointment is mandatory before applying: keep the contact certificate. You must then use Mon Accompagnateur Rénov’, a project adviser who helps plan the work, compare costs, prepare the application and follow the project through completion.
- Obtain contractor quotations. Where RGE qualification is required, the contractor must visit first to check that the equipment and materials suit the home; the visit date must appear on the quotation and invoice.
- Create your own account through France Rénov’ and submit the grant application with its supporting documents. New household accounts have used this route since 17 August 2026. You must create the account yourself; you can appoint a representative afterwards.
- Do not start the work before Anah acknowledges the application. That receipt is not an award: funding depends on assessment and the annual budget. The official sequence calls for signing the quotation after confirmation of the award. Exceptions to prior submission cover specified health/safety emergencies and disaster damage; an audit, and the larger-renovation assistance service, may precede the application.
- Complete the work within three years of the award notification for a larger renovation, or two years for targeted works; either deadline becomes one year if you receive an advance. Anah can allow extensions for specified circumstances outside your control. Upload the completion documents and request the final payment through your account.
