Innovation Fund: grants for new climate technology

CINEA5 geselecteerde landen en regio’sgesloten

Grants to demonstrate how new technology can cut climate emissions in practice.

Deze mogelijkheid is momenteel in het Engels beschikbaar.

You can get support to demonstrate new technology in areas such as industry, renewable energy and energy storage. The general rule is that the project must take place in the EU, Iceland, Norway or Liechtenstein.

The Net-Zero Technologies 2025 round also accepted projects for electricity generation, transmission, distribution or supply in Northern Ireland. Ships had separate rules for the country whose flag they flew and for their calls at ports in the EU or EEA, meaning the EU plus Iceland, Norway and Liechtenstein.

The grant can cover up to 60% of costs accepted under the funding round's calculation rules. This does not automatically mean 60% of your whole project budget.

Eligibility

Applicants in the Net-Zero Technologies 2025 round could be based in any country, subject to the exclusions below.

Your project needs to be more than an idea. You must have developed plans for the technology, business model, financing and legal arrangements.

The Net-Zero Technologies 2025 round accepted companies and other public or private organizations. Applicants generally had to be legal entities, meaning they could enter contracts in their own name. Sole traders could also apply. Organizations without their own legal personality could exceptionally participate if their representatives could take legal responsibility and provide sufficient guarantees.

Other private individuals could not apply. EU bodies were excluded, except for the European Commission's Joint Research Centre. Organizations subject to EU sanctions could not participate in any role. Hungarian public-interest trusts and organizations affected by the EU's budget-protection measures could not take funded roles in the project.
