Green car loan

Bank of IrelandIerland2–75K EUR

A lower-rate personal loan to buy a battery electric or plug-in hybrid car, with weekly or monthly repayments.

Deze mogelijkheid is momenteel in het Engels beschikbaar.

Borrow €2,000–€75,000 to buy your car and repay the loan plus interest over one to seven years. You can make extra repayments or repay this variable-rate loan early without penalty fees.

The published green-car table shows a 6.3% variable interest rate and 6.5% annual percentage rate (APR) in representative five-year examples. The bank dates these rates to 5 February 2025 and says they are subject to change.

There is no arrangement fee or deposit, and no large final lump-sum repayment. If you choose monthly repayments, you may defer the first three payments only if you have a Bank of Ireland current account. Deferring them increases the interest paid over the loan.

Eligibility

You must be an adult borrower buying a battery electric or plug-in hybrid car. Lending criteria and terms apply, and the bank checks your credit history with the Central Credit Register.

Provide a detailed seller quote or invoice showing the eligible vehicle type. The quote must be dated within the past six months and clearly show the seller’s name and your full name and address as recorded in 365 online.

To apply online, you must be at least 18, live in the Republic of Ireland and already hold a Bank of Ireland current account. Online applications are in your own name; new customers and joint applicants use the phone route.
