Energy efficiency rebates
LPEA members can receive a $350 standard rebate for an eligible heat pump water heater installed at a home or business in the utility’s service territory.

The standard heat pump water heater route pays $350 by check. It is part of LPEA’s energy efficiency rebate programme for its members’ homes and businesses.
Standard-tier rebates together are capped at $1,500 per member each year, excluding battery rebates. The $350 water heater rebate counts toward that annual limit.
Eligibility
- You must be an LPEA member. Residential and commercial installations can qualify, and the equipment must be installed within LPEA’s service territory.
- Your heat pump water heater must hold at least 30 gallons and be ENERGY STAR rated: choose a unit carrying that energy-efficiency certification. LPEA may inspect the installation.
- The rebate is normally paid to a person or business named on the LPEA account. To assign it to someone else, select “Reassign my rebate” in the application and provide the required information, or attach the completed LPEA Rebate Reassignment Form.

Complete the heat pump water heater form on LPEA’s application page within 90 days of completed installation, or of the certificate of occupancy for new construction. Rebates are available while funds last.
Upload proof of purchase, information or specification sheets for the installed unit, and a completed IRS W-9 tax form from the member or rebate recipient. The W-9 name must match the name on the rebate check. The recipient is responsible for any tax liability.
Applications typically take 8–10 weeks to process. LPEA pays heat pump water heater rebates by check. If you have trouble submitting the claim, email rebates@lpea.coop.
