Clean Energy Access: LA County TECH Grant
Grants for community nonprofits in ZIP code 91326 to help Los Angeles County residents understand heat pumps and access TECH Clean California incentives.
Deze mogelijkheid is momenteel in het Engels beschikbaar.
You can fund multilingual workshops, community outreach, educational materials and help for residents using TECH Clean California, the initiative promoting heat pumps for home heating and hot water. Your project must include outreach and education about reducing building emissions, healthy homes, electrification and related health impacts, together with an evaluation of the project's impact. Focus on residential installations.
Eligible costs include project staff pay, outreach materials, translation, interpretation, marketing and meeting facilitation. General organizational costs charged indirectly to the project cannot exceed 25% of the grant award. Funding cannot cover construction, infrastructure hardware or equipment purchases, direct lobbying, refreshments, direct cash subsidies, unrelated door prizes, or general meetings that do not advance the project. Costs outside the grant agreement term are also excluded.
The current third round is a restricted $75,000 grant cycle. Awards are selected competitively. You can request 25% of your award upfront; that advance must be reconciled against actual expenses and supporting documents before further payments. Later payment requests need proof of expenses, including staff costs and hours recorded by workplan task.
Wait for the CPUC's Notice to Proceed before beginning project implementation and grant-funded spending. Start within six months of the grant agreement's start date to keep your award, and finish the project before 1 April 2030.
Submit progress reports every six months from the grant agreement date, plus a final report evaluating the whole project. Failure to meet reporting requirements can lead to grant termination and affect eligibility for future grants.
Eligibility
- Your organization must be a California tax-exempt nonprofit under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Organizations operated by local governments cannot apply. Your organization must execute the grant project rather than act as a fiscal sponsor for it. You may collaborate with partners or subcontractors, including organizations without 501(c)(3) status, but you must do the majority of the work and oversee their work. Include their background and qualifications in your project narrative.
- For the current third round, your headquarters must be in ZIP code 91326 and your organization must never have received CEA-LAT grant funding.
- Your project must serve Los Angeles County residents exclusively. The programme prioritizes the Aliso Canyon Disaster Area and the San Fernando Valley. You must demonstrate your history of working with and serving the communities and populations named in your application.
- Fund complementary outreach and education activities that are not construction and are not directly funded by TECH. Include project impact evaluation; complementary activities must strengthen the outreach and education work.
