GreenRoad Loan
A secured personal loan for adults buying an electric or hybrid vehicle, a bicycle, or solar panels and battery storage with installation.

GreenRoad can finance electric and hybrid vehicles, bicycles including e-bikes, solar panel systems and installation, and battery storage units and installation. The loan is secured against the car, panels, battery or bike you buy.
You borrow from AUD 1,000 for up to seven years and repay the money with variable interest. Repayments can be weekly, fortnightly or monthly. You can make extra repayments and use the redraw facility to take back advance repayments. For car loans, extra repayments and paying off the loan early carry no penalty; you can buy from a dealer or a private seller.
As at 9 October 2026, the published GreenRoad interest rate is 7.14% a year, with a 7.45% comparison rate. The comparison rate combines interest and charges for an example secured loan of AUD 30,000 over five years; it may exclude some fees, and different amounts, terms or charges can change it. The GreenRoad product table lists an AUD 220 establishment fee, no application fee and no annual or monthly service fee.
Charges can still apply if repayments fall into arrears: AUD 10 for a phone contact, SMS, email or arrears letter, AUD 25 for a demand letter and AUD 55 for a default notice, with agent or solicitor costs charged at cost. Contract terms, charges and approval conditions apply.
Eligibility
- You must be a retail borrower aged at least 18 and pass Transport Mutual’s credit assessment.
- You must provide security acceptable to the lender; the purchased car, panels, battery or bike is used as security.
- The loan is designed for borrowers who need flexible extra repayments and access to advance repayments through redraw. It is unsuitable if you need a fixed interest rate and fixed repayments for the whole term.
- Transport Mutual welcomes members from all employment backgrounds and communities. When opening a member account, you must verify your identity. If you use foreign-government identification, you must also show a current resident or working visa.

For a new member account, complete the membership application and provide the required identity documents; Transport Mutual accepts documents by email, fax or at its branch.
