Grants of up to €60,000 per small or medium-sized business to develop technologies close to market for floating offshore wind.

Ta możliwość jest obecnie dostępna po angielsku.

I3FLOAT funds technological solutions to one of its floating offshore wind challenges. Projects should be relatively close to commercialisation, with expected current technology readiness levels (TRLs) of 6–8. Choose one of the 11 Specific Challenges set by industry stakeholders, or one of the 44 Open Challenges in the project’s innovation agenda, and follow its technical requirements.

One small or medium-sized enterprise (SME) can request up to €60,000. Two SMEs from different eligible regions can apply together for up to €120,000 in total, with up to €60,000 paid to each business. The grant covers 100% of the eligible budget and is paid as a fixed sum against the agreed project outputs. Your application must explain the budget and how it will be used.

Eligible costs include staff time spent on the project, contracted external services, travel and consumables. Subcontracting may account for no more than 30% of each applicant’s budget, and travel no more than 15%. Costs must arise between contract signature and the project’s end, and the project must not receive double funding.

Projects last at most 12 months. You receive 30% after signing the contract. A further 30% is paid midway through the project after a validated progress report and monitoring meeting. The final 40% is paid after the final report is validated and you present the results in a final meeting. Payments depend on monitoring results, and noncompliance with the call’s terms can prevent payment.

You must report progress, results and financial status at midpoint and completion. Reports, agreed deliverables and a brief financial statement are due no later than one month after each contractual reporting period ends. Keep implementation records and original expense documents for five years after the final balance is paid; retain them longer until any ongoing checks, audits, investigations, litigation or contractual claims end. You must permit EU control and audit access. For a Specific Challenge, agree follow-up arrangements with its industry owner at the start; at least one meeting per quarter is expected.

Funded businesses also receive free cluster services for networking, finance advice and bringing innovations to market. Associated travel and subsistence are not separately paid by I3FLOAT, though they can be eligible project expenses. Beneficiaries must communicate about their project using the provided branding and EU funding disclaimer, and attend one I3FLOAT event during the project if requested.

Eligibility

You must qualify as an SME under the EU definition: fewer than 250 staff and either annual turnover no greater than €50 million or a balance-sheet total no greater than €43 million. Businesses belonging to a larger group may need to include that group’s staff and financial figures. Use the EU SME assessment referenced in the submission toolkit.

You must satisfy at least one of these location or membership routes:

  • Have your headquarters or an affiliated entity in an I3FLOAT consortium region. Annex 4 lists all regions of Belgium, Bulgaria, Italy and Poland; Primorje–Gorski Kotar in Croatia; SUD–PACA, Occitanie, Bretagne and Île-de-France in France; Santarém in Portugal; Nitra in Slovakia; and Andalusia, the Basque Country, Canary Islands, Cantabria, Madrid and Navarra in Spain.
  • Be established in a qualifying less-developed, outermost or overseas region listed in Annex 4 of the submission toolkit. Eligibility applies to the listed regions, rather than every region in each country.
  • Have been a member of an I3FLOAT cluster partner by June 2026 at the latest. Joining after that cutoff does not satisfy this route; the location alternatives remain available.

Each applicant must demonstrate financial stability and the ability to carry out the project and manage the grant, complete the financial-capacity self-assessment and pass financial checks. Applicants must not be bankrupt, wound up, under court administration, in an arrangement with creditors, have suspended business activities, or face proceedings or an equivalent national-law situation. You must meet tax and social-security obligations, have no grant-related conflict of interest, and have no ownership connection to an I3FLOAT consortium partner.

After selection, financial accounts, bank statements, VAT registration and bank details may be requested. An SME without a financial track record may be asked for a business plan for the current financial year. Exceptionally, the Evaluation Committee can accept other appropriate documents when the inability to provide the usual documents is justified; it can also request further evidence of financial capacity.

Apply alone or with one other SME from a different eligible region. Each proposal must select exactly one challenge and be entirely in English. Each SME may appear in only one accepted proposal, whether applying alone or jointly; if it appears in several, only the latest submitted proposal is admissible. Joint beneficiaries must set up an internal cooperation agreement covering intellectual property and use and dissemination of project results.

Warunki naboru
  • English applications; exactly one challenge; regional or pre-existing cluster eligibility applies.

Read the first-call submission toolkit, its Annex 4 regional list, the relevant challenge documentation and the FAQs. Submit the English application through I3FLOAT’s GoodGrants platform during the application window. For a joint application, one SME acts as coordinator and submits a single proposal. You can save and revise your application before the deadline.

The platform sends an email confirming upload. If it does not arrive, contact europe@polemermediterranee.com and copy your national contact point listed in section 10 of the toolkit. Technical submission issues must be reported to that address, with your national contact point copied, by 9 November 2026 at 17:00 CET. For general call questions, contact BASQUENERGY Cluster at msuarez@basquenergycluster.com.
