Municipal Energy Plan Program
Matched grants for Ontario municipalities to create or update community energy plans that improve energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Ta możliwość jest obecnie dostępna po angielsku.
Create a community energy plan that examines energy use, future growth and renewable energy production, or improve an existing complete or partial community energy plan or other energy plan. The programme funds planning; it does not pay to implement existing plans.
For a new plan (Stream 1), funding covers stakeholder engagement, collecting and analysing baseline energy data (including an energy map), and creating the plan. The grant is limited to CAD 90,000 per project and 50% of eligible costs incurred for each milestone, whichever is less.
For an existing plan (Stream 2), the grant covers up to 50% of eligible costs, capped at CAD 25,000. You can update utility or structure data, create new or additional implementation plans or maps, and carry out associated activities. This stream offers more flexibility in developing milestones.
Both streams require matching funding. Your municipality can provide it itself or seek additional funding from other sources, including other levels of government and community stakeholders.
Eligibility
- All Ontario municipalities can apply, including upper-tier municipalities.
- If your municipality is lower-tier, submit a letter from its upper-tier municipality confirming support for the project.
- To update an existing plan under Stream 2, clearly demonstrate how your project relates directly to that plan and adds to or improves it.
