Grants for Swedish research organizations and companies to take part in, develop or lead international working groups on sustainable hydrogen technology.

Ta możliwość jest obecnie dostępna po angielsku.

Fund travel and staff time for meetings, technical work and sharing results through IEA Hydrogen TCP, the International Energy Agency’s hydrogen technology collaboration. Leadership support can also cover coordination and reporting.

Projects can last up to 48 months, including projects to develop or lead a working group. Participation in existing working groups or establishing new subgroups can receive up to SEK 200,000 per year. Developing a new working group, or leading or coordinating a working group, can receive a higher amount based on the work involved. Funding for a new working group starts only after its preliminary proposal has been approved by the programme’s Executive Committee.

Universities and research institutes can receive up to 100% of eligible costs for independent research that qualifies as non-economic activity. The rules distinguish this from economic activities such as commissioned research, which must be accounted for separately. The 100% rate applies only to the non-economic work, and the agency may still require other financing.

Company grants are subject to de minimis rules, which limit the small amounts of public aid a company group can receive; the call states a EUR 300,000 ceiling over three years for such aid awarded in Sweden. A company must cover costs left unfunded itself or with other private cash financing. Another organization’s contributions of work or resources cannot finance the company’s costs.

An extension of a working group requires a separately assessed application for additional funding. If the group ends early, the project may also end and remaining payments stop.

Eligibility

Swedish universities, higher-education institutions, research institutes and companies that are legal entities can apply. Applicants should have documented subject expertise and be able to represent Sweden in the group. Previous participation is not required.

Both the Swedish Energy Agency and the working group’s manager must approve participation. The proposal is assessed for its value to Sweden, including planned dissemination and use of results in Sweden.

Company support excludes primary production of agricultural, fishery and aquaculture products and export-related activities such as costs tied directly to export volumes or operating an export distribution network. Disclose other public or directly managed EU funding sought, received or planned for the same costs; combined public aid cannot exceed the applicable EU limits.

Costs must be actual, recorded and incurred within the approved project period. Unspent grant money must be repaid.
