Ministerio de Industria, Energía y MineríaUrugwajdo 250 USDzamyka się 31 gru 2026

Individuals and legal entities in Uruguay can receive a purchase rebate for an approved new electric motorcycle or cargo tricycle.

Ta możliwość jest obecnie dostępna po angielsku.

Subite reimburses 10% of the purchase price, up to USD 250 per electric motorcycle or USD 450 per electric cargo tricycle. The price includes VAT, except for legal entities that deduct VAT: their rebate is calculated on the invoice price excluding VAT. Payment is in Uruguayan pesos, using the BCU interbank USD exchange rate for the business day before the purchase invoice.

You also receive a one-time UTE electricity-bill credit of UYU 2,022 on the residential or commercial supply linked to the vehicle, after registration, and one year of compulsory motor insurance (SOA) from Banco de Seguros del Estado at no cost.

After 12 months from purchase, the vehicle can qualify for a separate energy-savings payment through Certificados de Eficiencia Energética (CEE). Its amount depends on the first year’s vehicle use and the rules of the CEE call then in progress.

Participating suppliers must deliver within 45 calendar days after purchase, provide technical service in at least one department of each programme zone where they participate, and give a battery warranty of at least six months.

Eligibility

  • You must be an individual or legal entity resident in Uruguay. The programme is open nationwide. Provide a UTE electricity-service account; no more than two vehicles may receive support per supply.
  • Buy an approved vehicle from the programme’s product list through a participating seller. Used vehicles are excluded, and the CEE benefit specifically requires a new, unused vehicle.
  • The vehicle must be a registrable, pure battery-electric motorcycle or cargo tricycle. It must have a lithium battery or one with higher energy density, at least 900 Wh battery capacity, at least 500 W motor power and an odometer.
  • The purchase rebate is unavailable for a vehicle whose acquisition already receives economic support from the Dirección Nacional de Energía (DNE) or the Uruguayan Energy Saving and Efficiency Trust (Fudaee), including other promotional instruments or agreements.
  • The signed adhesion note accepts the programme rules, commits you to provide further vehicle-operation information if MIEM requests it, and authorizes publication of your name for the purposes in those rules. Warranty and technical-service matters are handled directly with the vehicle supplier. MIEM may use programme-results information to promote efficient electric mobility or improve its programmes, only for those purposes.

Warunki naboru
  • Nationwide applications are open, subject to a programme total of 1,000 electric motorcycles and 100 electric cargo tricycles.[^c1][^c9]
  • The participating seller starts the application.[^c11]

Start at a participating seller’s physical or online point of sale. The seller begins the online Subite procedure, chooses the approved model and submits the required information and documents. DNE checks the application and decides whether to approve participation.

Provide your identity document, the vehicle invoice, UTE bill and account number, vehicle ownership/registration documentation and signed adhesion note. The rules also require a photo of the owner/user’s driving licence, or the company’s designated driver’s licence. Companies provide notarial evidence of representation.

After the seller submits, you continue the process. Once you have registered the vehicle, notify DNE so it can send the information needed for UTE and the rebate payment. Registration and notification come before the rebate payment, for which the programme specifies a 15-day period. Collect it through Red Pagos; it remains available for collection for six months. The UTE bill credit follows in the month after notification of registration.

The current nationwide intake runs to 31 December 2026, subject to the programme quotas of 1,000 motorcycles and 100 cargo tricycles. Contact subite@miem.gub.uy for programme questions.
