Home energy efficiency loan
An unsecured loan for private individuals buying or installing solar panels, heat pumps, batteries or other renewable-energy systems at home.

You can borrow €1,000–€30,000 for up to 10 years without collateral or security. Citadele assesses each application individually; the fixed annual interest rate starts at 5.9%. The loan processing fee is 2% of the borrowed amount, with a minimum of €100.
After you sign the agreement, Citadele pays the money into your bank account. You then pay the service provider and arrange installation. You repay the loan with interest through monthly payments, automatically deducted from your Citadele account; keep enough money there on each payment date.
You can repay the full loan early without an extra fee by submitting an order in online banking or at a branch. For a partial early repayment, put the money in your current or loan repayment account, then use online banking: Loans and Leasing > My Loans > Apply for loan amendments > “I wish to make an early loan repayment” > Partially repay loan. The amount must be at least one monthly repayment; enter it and sign the order. Changes to the repayment date, repayment account or other agreement provisions cost €25 per document.
Eligibility
- The loan is for private individuals’ personal needs. You must have official income. Your wages may be paid into another bank, and you can apply without already being a Citadele customer.
- Eligible purchases or installations are solar panels, heat pumps, energy storage batteries, wind generators and hydroelectric power stations. The installation property must belong to you, your parent, spouse or child. Choose a retailer offering European Union certified purchase and installation.
- Within six months of signing the agreement, submit receipts or invoices together with the payment order, plus a Land Registry printout. Submit these through an order in online banking. If you fail to do this, Citadele adds four percentage points to your interest rate.

Use the Apply button on Citadele’s home energy efficiency loan page to apply online. Select “Solar panels or other renewable energy systems” as the loan purpose. Choose your system and loan amount, then apply for Citadele’s individual offer. After signing the agreement and receiving the money in your account, pay the supplier and arrange installation. Submit the required purchase evidence and Land Registry printout within six months of signing.
