Green loan

AlmiSzwecjado 20 mln SEK

Loans for small and medium-sized businesses in Sweden investing in projects such as solar panels, charging points or energy-saving equipment.

Ta możliwość jest obecnie dostępna po angielsku.

Almi normally lends 30-50% of the total capital needed, although its share can be lower or higher after assessing risk and repayment capacity. You need to arrange the rest through a bank, the owners or another external financier.

The repayment period is 12 months to 10 years. Almi sets the interest rate individually based on project risk and repayment capacity. A European Investment Fund guarantee through the EU's InvestEU programme can provide a lower rate, a longer term and an initial period without repayments than Almi's other loans.

Eligibility

  • Your business must be registered in Sweden and qualify as a small or medium-sized enterprise. Annual turnover must not exceed EUR 50 million, or the balance-sheet total—the total value of assets shown on the balance sheet—must not exceed EUR 43 million.
  • The person using Almi's services must have a residence permit, be an EU or EEA citizen with right of residence, or be a Nordic citizen.
  • The investment must meet at least one sustainability requirement linked to the EU taxonomy. These rules assess environmental benefits, for example when you install solar panels or save energy. An Almi adviser helps check your investment against the relevant requirement.
  • You need financing from other sources too. Almi assesses how much it can lend based on whether the project is viable and your business can repay the loan.
  • Almi normally requires a business mortgage and a limited personal guarantee, adjusted to your business and project. A business mortgage uses business property, such as inventory, as security. A personal guarantee means an owner or another person agrees to repay a limited, agreed amount if the business cannot.
