Residential heat-pump rebates
Rebates help residential electricity customers buy qualifying ducted or ductless air-source heat pumps.

The heat-pump route pays $300 per ton of system capacity. Its $1,200 annual maximum is shared with hybrid heat-pump water-heater rebates and excludes the removal bonus. One ton corresponds to 12,000 BTU in the application’s sizing rule. Removing the old system adds $300; its removal must appear on the invoice.
Rebates of $500 or less become a credit on your active electricity account. Larger rebates are paid by check; NAED asks you to allow 6–8 weeks for check processing.
Eligibility
- You must be a residential NAED customer with an account in good standing.
- Buy a ducted or ductless air-source heat pump during 2026 for installation at the service location listed on your application.
- The system must meet the form’s NEEP certification requirement and be verified on the Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnerships product list, which identifies heat pumps suited to efficient heating in cold climates. Supply the AHRI equipment certification number and the required NEEP certification information.
- By signing, you allow NAED or its representative to inspect or otherwise verify the installation. NAED may change the programme at any time without notice.

- Eligible purchases must be made from 1 January to 31 December 2026. Claims are accepted through 31 January 2027.
Complete and sign the heat-pump section on page 3 of the 2026 rebate application. Include sales receipts, contractor invoices and certification evidence. The detailed invoice must show the brand, indoor and outdoor model numbers, system capacity in tons or BTU, and payment verification using a credit-card statement or both sides of a cashed check.
Email the completed claim to rebates@naelectric.com or mail it to NAED, 275 Landry Avenue, North Attleborough, MA 02760. Claims for 2026 purchases are accepted through 31 January 2027.
