Readiness Country Support
Readiness grants for developing countries to improve national climate planning and prepare investments, with up to USD 7 million in total available to each country over four years.
Esta oportunidade está atualmente disponível em inglês.
Use readiness support to build the systems needed to plan and deliver climate investment. Eligible work includes institutional capacity, coordination, low-emission and climate-resilient strategies, national climate plans, investment planning and development of adaptation and mitigation proposals.
The USD 7 million is the total available to a country over four years, not an award for one project. It combines up to USD 4 million in the main allocation and up to USD 3 million for countries that have not fully used earlier support for formulating a National Adaptation Plan.
Eligibility
Support is for developing countries that are parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change. Applications go through the country's National Designated Authority or GCF focal point, the government body that coordinates with GCF. This is country-level support rather than a grant route for an individual climate project. Funding can also strengthen Direct Access Entities, which are national or regional organisations seeking or holding direct access to GCF resources.
Separately from the four-year allocation of up to USD 7 million, countries may request up to USD 3 million to implement a National Adaptation Plan, subject to separate conditions.
