Investment in AI for the green transition

Greencode VenturesEuropaaté 5 M EUR

Equity investment for early-stage companies building applied AI to make European energy systems, industry and infrastructure greener.

Esta oportunidade está atualmente disponível em inglês.

Greencode Ventures invests up to €5 million in a company and becomes a minority part-owner. Its current focus includes AI that improves energy capacity and flexibility, enables sustainable energy output, or helps industry use resources more circularly.

The published sustainability requirements below concern Greencode I, the venture fund managed by Greencode Ventures.

Eligibility

  • Your company should fit the current focus on applied AI in energy, industry or infrastructure, at Seed through Series A: early investment rounds supporting the development and growth of the business.
  • The current strategy targets European founders. Greencode I’s published investment strategy describes its focus as primarily Europe and Israel.
  • Greencode I focuses on early-stage companies whose business models can grow rapidly, often through digital products or services.
  • For Greencode I, your business objective must focus on the green transition. Greencode assesses whether the company’s positive impact outweighs its negative impact; its stated net impact ratio must be above zero.
  • Greencode also assesses whether the investment causes significant harm, including whether negative effects are understood, managed and mitigated. Failure to meet these safeguards can lead to a negative investment or follow-on recommendation.
  • For Greencode I, impact objectives are agreed before investment. Afterwards, portfolio companies must set quantitative measures of impact and report them at least annually. They are also asked to complete an annual questionnaire on principal adverse impacts: the negative effects considered in the fund’s sustainability assessment.
